For this piece, I utilized Photoshop's layer mask tool to hide portions of the image I wanted to exclude. I then layered and positioned the images so that select branches formed a cross in the center of the page After I was satisfied w/ the formation of the cross, I overly adjusted the contrast, highlights, and shadows to give it the appearance of an intensely backlit scene (i.e. Rid the trees of their texture & detail). I used a total of 10 separate tree images to create the final piece. (The next page will display the unedited tree images used to complete the effect.) |
